Mr. Hecht | Mrs. Martinez | Ms. Ringer | Mr. Sand | Ms. Turner
Ms. Turner grew up in Garden Grove. Music and sports were two important parts of those early years. She has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Redlands with majors in Physical Education, Vocal Music and Psychology. After teaching in Catholic schools for ten years, Ms. Turner earned a masters degree from Brigham Young University with a major in Physical Education Administration and Curriculum. Most of Ms. Turner's 30 + years of teaching has allowed her to teach both music and physical education.
18 years ago, Ms. Turner came to Parks to teach choir, handbells, and Physical Education. She has also coached volleyball, boys & girls soccer and a variety of field events for track. The best part of teaching and coaching at the Junior High level is the chance to influence students to be good sports and to try to be active all their lives. It is wonderfull to have former students return to tell of their success in high school and college.
Besides teaching, Ms. Turner is active playing the organ at church and working to plan a summer camp for adults with HIV/ AIDS. She also sings with the Orange Community Master Chorale and has performed in Europe and the British Isles.
Ms. Turner lives in Orange and has a dog named "Shrek" named by Parks students who helped raise him for the first six weeks of his life. She has two grown children, a son and a daughter. Her son's name is Ian and her daughter's name is Seonag.
