We are happy to serve you in any way we can. The Valencia Park office is available to assist you between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. We welcome you to visit our campus, but please make an appointment with our office staff. If you wish to talk to the principal, please contact the school’s Office Manager. Absences- School attendence is important for your child's success in school. When your student returns to school after an absence, a note must be sent with him/her, or phone the school office withing three days giving the reason for the absence. The note may be written in the home language, or it may be a doctor’s note. A parent note does not necessarily post as an excused absence. Excused absences are only for the verified illnesses (Doctor’s note) and death in the immediate family. Teachers will work with your child to make up missed work and they have as many days to complete as days absent. If they are absent three days or longer a doctor’s note is required. If the child is able to work, homework can be arranged by calling school office and requesting the work. Please allow a day for preparation. Tardies- Students are expected to line up in their designated line up area by the 8:10 a.m school bell. Students are expected to be in class ready for learning at 8:15 a.m. Excused tardies are only considered for doctor or dentist visits. All other tardies are considered unexcused. Truancy, unexcused absences or excessive absences affect the students' education and increase the chances for failure. Tardies interrupt the classroom and interfere with learning. If attendance does not improve immediately after notification orally and in writing, a formal petition with the Fullerton School Attendance Review Board (SARB) will be filed. BREAKFAST AND LUNCH PROCEDURES Breakfast is $1.80 and lunch is $2.55. Reduced price meals are $.30 for breakfast and $.40 for lunch. Applications are available in the school office for free and reduced meal programs. Pending processing applications, letters will be mailed out to your home indicating approval. Until parents receive a notice of approval parents will need to pack a lunch for their students. Payments can be made on-line through www.mySchoolBucks.com. STUDENT SAFETY School safety is strictly enforced and discussed with all students. Rules and dress code information is signed by parents and students each school year. Regular discussion of disaster drills, fire drills and weapon safety are discussed with students on a regular school wide basis.
