On Friday, March 12, the Valencia Park 5th graders treated the 2nd graders to an all expense paid trip to Washington DC. The fact that no one left the school grounds did not matter at all. While looking at scale models (built by 5th grade teacher Ms. Ramont and the VP 5th grade students), the 2nd graders were walked through the process of how a bill works its way through the House of Representatives and the Senate, and is finally signed into law by the President.
It was both a fun and educational trip for everyone, and no one lost their luggage. |
