Welcome all Sunset Lane families! We hope you find your journey here rewarding. We invite you to join the Sunset Lane PTA. The main purpose of the PTA is “to promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, and community . . .” The mission of the California State PTA “is to positively impact the lives of all children and families by representing our members and empowering and supporting them with skills in advocacy, leadership, and communications.” (PTA Toolkit, p.3) In other words, PTA believes that parents are their children’s first teachers, and by working in harmony with professionals, they can ensure the safety and welfare of all children and improve the quality of public education for each child. Studies have shown that when families are involved, their children perform better in school. If you are unable to donate your time, there are many other ways to help Sunset Lane be the best experience your son or daughter can have!
