ATTENDANCE POLICY
The California Educational Code (48200) requires that all students of school age attend school on a daily basis. “Every pupil is required to attend school ‘punctually ‘ and ‘regularly’” - California Compulsory Attendance Law. Educational success is directly related to school attendance. IF YOU MISS SCHOOL, YOU MISS OUT! Only illness, medical appointments or extreme emergencies are valid excuses for absence from school. When you are absent, your parent or guardian should call the school (447-7770) and report your absence. If a call is not made, you must bring a note with the following information on it:
1. The student’s full name
2. Date of absence
3. The cause or reason for the absence
4. Full signature of the parent or guardian
Failure to clear an absence within 3 days may result in administrative consequences. Students who have excused absences will be allowed as many days as he/she was absent plus one to make up any work or tests missed during the period of absence. Students with unexcused absences will be allowed to do make up work at the discretion of the teacher.
