Hermosa Community Fund

 

Dave and Molly Stanley, along with St. Paul Lutheran Church, would like to announce the establishment of the Julie Stanley Memorial Hermosa Community Fund. This fund has been established to assist youth who are unable to participate in school or summer extra curricular learning activities (examples include science camp, summer camp, etc.) due to financial hardship. Money from this fund will also assist in supporting other youth needs as deemed appropriate.
Information about this fund and grant applications are available through the offices of Hermosa Elementary School and St. Paul Lutheran Church. Grant applications are also available for download (PDF format) by clicking here. Completed applications by elementary school families are to be returned to the Hermosa Elementary School office. Funds are distributed on a need basis with amounts determined by the number of requests received and cost of the event. Mission:

To provide enrichment opportunities for students in the Hermosa Drive School Community who might not otherwise have the opportunities due to financial limitations.

Examples: Scout Camp, Art Classes, Science Camp, Sport Leagues, Summer Camps, Hermosa Drive School Field Trips and Outdoor Education, Happy Class
Guidelines for Disbursement of Funds:
 

Determine the student’s financial need, desire and ability to attend the program.

This fund expects some financial participation on the part of the student’s family whenever possible. This co-investment will ensure that the student will be able to fully participate in the activity.

The average amount of the funding is between $100-$150. Every effort will be made to honor all requests for funding.

For school programs and events, funds will be paid directly to Hermosa Drive School.

For programs outside of Hermosa Drive School, checks will be made payable directly to the program. The check will be provided to the student’s family for submission along with any remaining portion of the total fees due.
